U.S. Colt Conversion Unit Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Leather Holster.Serial no. 66740 [frame], .22 long rifle caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and micrometer adjust rear sight. Blued finish. Rampant Colt logo to left side of slide. Left side of frame stamped: UNITED STATES PROPERTY. Right side of frame marked RIA / (flaming bomb). Stag style grip panels with Franzite inlaid medallions. Grip safety. Lanyard ring. Contained in U.S. marked leather holster. The Colt Conversion Unit is a .22 Long Rifle (LR) caliber conversion kit designed for the Colt M1911 and Government Model .45 ACP pistols. Introduced in 1938, it allowed shooters to convert their .45 ACP pistols to fire .22 LR ammunition, offering a cost-effective and low-recoil option for training and target practice.
Condition: Very good as partially refinished. Retaining approximately 94-96% finish with some minor thinning to relief edges, handling wear and very fine spots of pitting. Magazine absent. Action crisp. Mirror bright bore. Some noticeable staining and storage wear present to leather.
