Description
Custom Embellished Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol Carried by Bo Brown, Texas Ranger Company "C".Serial no. CV18908, .45 caliber, 5-inch barrel. Originally stainless steel. Overlay and floral scroll-engraved by Kevin Johnson. Kevin is a custom engraver and badge maker for the Texas Rangers. Custom Texas Ranger grips are embellished with Texas Ranger badges and the initials RB on both sides. Together with 8 round marked Colt magazine clip.
This particular gun comes with paperwork from Ricky (Bo) Brown on Texas DPS letterhead stating in caps: "MY NAME IS BO BROWN AND I AM CURRENTLY SERVING AS A TEXAS RANGER IN CHILDRESS. I STARTED MY LAW ENFORCEMENT CAREER IN ABILINE TEXAS WITH THE ABILINE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN 2003 UNTIL 2007. I BECAME A MEMBER OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY IN SEPTEMBER 2007 .I SERVED AS A HIGHWAY PATROLMAN................IN JUNE 1, 2013, I WAS COMMISSIONED AS ONE THE YOUNGEST TEXAS RANGERS ASSIGNED TO CHILDRESS, TEXAS WITHIN COMPANY "C". ON 06/08/2016, I CARRIED THIS PISTOL IN THE COURSE OF THE TRIAL OF ANDREW CALLAWAY WHO WAS FOUND GUILTY OF CAPITAL MURDER AND IS CURRENTLY SERVING LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE. I AM CERTIFYING THAT I CARRIED THIS COLT .45 AUTOMATIC 1911 STYLE PISTOL IN THE COURSE OF MY DUTIES AS A RANGER. I CERTIFY THIS TO BE TRUE AND CORRECT TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE." According to a typed letter with image showing the gun, [identified as Inventory #SPEC 1], This gun was purchased directly from Kevin Johnson. The letter also states, this gun was carried by seven Texas Rangers on duty over the years after Kevin engraved it.
Condition: Fine as presented. The gun's added embellishments and workmanship are crisp and only show minimal wear and handling . Action good, bore good. Right grip marked inside [20 J.D. XXXXX 14], possible maker or previous owner.
