U.S. Model 1836 Martial Flintlock Pistol by A. Waters.

Unserialized, .54 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Left side of barrel stamped: U.S. / JH / P. Lock marked: (eagle head) / A. H. WATERS & CO. / MILBURY, MASS. / 1844. Smooth hardwood stock with round metal butt, triggerguard, barrel band and swivel ram rod. Manufactured by Asa Waters, a well-known arms manufacturer from Millbury, Massachusetts, who produced a significant number of pistols for the U.S. government during the early 19th century.

Condition: Fair to good. Overall showing heavy wear and age, with patches of pitting throughout under the bright finish. Noticeable scuffs and dings present to wood, few minor cracks around lock. Action somewhat functions, but it is weak, appears to have worn engagement. Lightly pitted bore.
