Scarce Cased Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver. Serial no. 184053, .31 caliber, 4-inch octagonal barrel with two-line Hartford address. 5-shot cylinder with roll-stamped stagecoach hold-up scene. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer, lever and frame. Fire-blued trigger. Left side of lug stamped: 2. Silver-plated brass triggerguard and gripstrap assembly. Varnished one-piece walnut grips. Contained in original dark teal velvet-lined partitioned Colt case together with small copper alloy eagle pattern powder flask; "L"-shaped tool; small japanned Eley cap tin and two-cavity brass Colt's Patent powder flask with integral sprue cutter. Condition: Revolver: Excellent. Retaining approximately 80-85% finish with scattered wear to cylinder, light flaking and spotting to barrel. Areas of vibrant case-hardening present. Grips excellent with only minor marks present. Mechanically sound. Case showing wear and light fading to lining and minor discoloration present on lid . Accoutrements with light wear and patina. Bottom of case with minor separations to lining. Case with lock removed from front.
