Ornate French Flintlock Pistol. Approximately .60 caliber, 9 1/2-inch staged barrel with no front sight and fine relief panel on breech. Unmarked lock bearing fleur-de-lis relief engraving. Hardwood stock with exotic copper inlaid wire decorations at upper tang, under forearm, both sides of grip including sun ray motif at thumbrest. 2-headed eagle figural on brass butt cap. Steel furniture and triggerguard with engraved floral motifs. Condition: Good to very good. Steel a rich brown patina with scattered patches of pitting. Lower-tang guard extension absent either side of trigger. Stock with age wear and patina. 2-inch crack at muzzle. Old fine repair covering absent ram rod and pipe. Losses around ill-fitting lock. Old pewter repair at butt. One-inch crack at head of lock. Action functions.
