London Marked Hudson Valley Flintlock Fowler.

Unserialized, approximately .60 caliber, 36-inch two-stage barrel marked: LONDON PROOF with proof marks to left side. Scroll engraved lock. Mid 18th century walnut stock with carved relief foliate designs around the barrel tang, in front of and behind triggerguard, behind the ramrod entry ferrule. Floral scroll engraved brass triggerguard. Wood ramrod. Brass buttplate. Fowler was shortened to carbine length, probably for use in the Revolutionary War. Firearm was previously sold at Morphy Auctions on October 30, 2019, auction string tag is still included.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scattered cracks, areas of splintering and some loss along to forearm present to wood. Noticeable repair to wrist. Action needs adjustment. Pitted bore.
