Description
H. Aston Model 1842 U.S. Percussion Pistol.Unserialized, approximately .54 caliber, 8 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front brass blade sight. Top of barrel marked: U / JH / P. Breech dated 1850. Lock marked: MIDDTN. / CONN. / 1850 and U.S. / H. ASTON. Smooth hardwood stock with faint cartouches to left side of stock. Brass furniture. Swivel ramrod.
Condition: Good. Finish a mottled grey patina with noticeable wear and pitting. Scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Some wood loss at left corner of lock. Action good. Pitted bore.
