Description

Fine Irish Flintlock Pistol by Calderwood. Approximately .46 caliber, 8 ¾-inch polished steel octagonal barrel with post front sight and dovetailed slotted rear sight. Lock and breech are marked: CALDERWOOD. Engraved upper tang, lock, hammer and screws. Triggerguard with fine pineapple finials. Silver oval thumb rest. Hardwood ramrod with horn tip. Lively grained English walnut stock with fine checkering at the grip.

Condition: Fine. Steel now a smooth gray patina with scattered patches of fine pitting. Chip behind hammer. All screws are excellent showing no tool marks. Pin repair to left side of stock above trigger. Small crack in stock at back screw. Fine bore with light pitting.
