Description

Ebony Stocked Dog Lock Flintlock Pistol by H. Barne. .46 caliber, 6 1/8-inch part octagonal/part round barrel with molded bands. Dog lock mechanism with ornate floral engraving, figural locking catch, an engraved cock's head. Lockplate marked: H. Barne. Lightly figured ebony stock with floral engraved silver pommel cap and muzzle band. Silver ramrod band. Wooden ramrod. This particular gun has been published in various books and articles.

Condition: Good to very good. Metal cleaned, showing heavy age patina and moderate pitting throughout. Stock with light repairs and cracks throughout. Silver work with light wear and tarnish, otherwise excellent. Silver furniture is a modern addition to the gun, post 1971. Action crisp.
