Merwin, Hulbert & Co. Early Model Single Action Revolver.
Serial no. 4518 on Bird's-head, [2117 on inside grip, back of cylinder and barrel lug], 7-inch barrel, 44-40 caliber. Nickel-plated finish with Mexican Eagle two piece Bird's-head grips. Case-hardened hammer and triggerguard. Right side of frame marked CALIBRE 1873 / WINCHESTER. Top of barrel with standard address and patent markings. Left side of barrel marked THE HOPKINS & ALLEN MANUFACTURING CO. NORWICH, CONN USA. Note: See Flayderman's Section VIII-A: Cartridge Handguns for more information regarding Merwin Revolvers, 8A-078.

Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 90-95% finish with fine scratches and faint areas of light pitting mostly to cylinder and front of cylinder area. 60-65% case colors present on hammer and triggerguard. Grips very good with age wear and slight discoloration. Action crisp. Bore excellent.
