Description
Tranter Double Action Percussion Revolver for Hyde & Goodrich.Serial no. 11.526.T, .36 caliber, 3 3/4-inch octagonal barrel with front bead sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: W. TRANTERS PATENT, MADE FOR HYDE & GOODRICH, NEW ORLEANS. Elaborate scroll engraving to barrel, lever, frame, triggerguard, short backstrap and butt cap. Five shot cylinder. Checkered hardwood grip.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with signs of wear and patches of pitting. Few scuffs and dings to grip. Minor loss at backstrap. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
