Pair of Cole Agee Engraved Smith & Wesson Combat Masterpiece Revolvers Belonging to Texas Rangers George Brakefield and Weldon Lucas. Serial nos. K159443 and K159606, .38 caliber, 4-inch barrels, serrated front ramp and micrometer rear sights. Extensively floral/scroll engraved on fine punch dot background. Nickel-plated and case-hardened finish. Checkered walnut grips with medallions. Sold together with notarized letter from sister of Lucas stating that Cole Agee engraved both revolvers for Texas Ranger George C. Brakefield and that Lucas acquired them from the Brakefield family. Brakefield was a career law enforcement officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1982. He served as a Texas Ranger from 1969-1981. He is buried by governor's proclamation in the Texas State Cemetery. Weldon Lucas had a 41 year career in Texas law enforcement. He served with Department of Public Safety as well as Sheriff of Denton County, Texas. He was a patrolman and sergeant with DPS before becoming a Texas Ranger. He has been enshrined in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. Condition: Excellent. Cylinders with light tracking lines. Light handling wear. Bright bores. Actions excellent.Auction Info
