Description
Root Model.
Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Revolver.Serial no. 27609 (butt and under barrel), .28 caliber, 3 1/2-inch barrel. Blued finish with smooth walnut one-piece grip. Full fluted cylinder as expected for the model 3 variation. Colt's Pt. and Hartford address on barrel (faint). This gun is pictured in the book Texas Iron, Guns of the Texas Rangers, by Moser on page 48.

Condition: Fair to good. Retaining mostly a old refinish turning the gun a plum/brown with areas of pitting touch ups. Grips with mars, dents and some bruising. Small chips to heel. Faint barrel address. Loading lever a bit loose. Action good. Bore ok.
