Cased Set With Rare Extra Barrel
One of 4 Known Without Merwin Markings

Cased Merwin & Hulbert 4th Model Pocket Army Single Action Revolver.
Serial no. 5595, .44-40 caliber, 3 5/16-inch barrel with Hopkins & Allen address. Rare blued finish. Checkered hard rubber grips. Left side of frame marked: CALIBRE/WINCHESTER/1873. Sold together with a 5 1/2-inch blued barrel and correct cleaning rod and brushes all contained in hardwood case with maker's label on inside of lid.

Condition: Fine retaining approximately 50-60% original finish with the balance thinning to a mottled brown-gray patina. Scattered patches of fine staining and pitting at muzzle and barrel lug. Some staining to left side of frame. Address partially obscured. Grips fine. Action tight. 5 1/2-inch barrel similar to first but with larger losses to right side. Both bores very bright with a couple of spots. Accessories and case are fine. Liner and maker's label are modern replacements.
