Description

Space Shuttle Enterprise Approach and Landing Test Crews-Signed NASA Color Photo. A 10" x 8" NASA litho print of the Space Shuttle prototype Enterprise and its four test pilots kneeling in front. It is signed in black felt tips beneath their respective images: " Gordon Fullerton" [crew 1 pilot]; " Fred Haise" [crew 1 commander]; " Joe Engle" [crew 2 commander]; and " Richard Truly" [crew 2 pilot]. Between June and October, 1977, these four astronauts alternated in crews of two, performing the first manned captive-active and free flight tests in the unpowered Enterprise orbiter. These tests took place at the Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base and were a very important phase in the development of the final design of the Space Shuttle orbiter. Very fine.
