Description

Wright Brothers: Original Wright Flyer (1903) Component Drawing by L.P. Christman. An 8.5" x 11" document with original drawings and mathematical data concerning the reconstruction of the 1903 Wright Flyer displayed in the Smithsonian. Christman was tasked by Colonel Edward Deeds to assist with the restoration of the 1905 Wright Flyer, which resides in Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio. Being that there were no complete drawings by the Wrights of the construction of their planes, Christman was required to travel to the Smithsonian and take detailed measurements and notes. These notes were then used to correctly assemble the 1905 Wright Flyer. A fascinating relic of early aviation. Excellent.
