Rocket Mail: First Royal Air Force Rocket Mail Flown Cover, 1971. A handsome cacheted cover celebrating the R.A.F.'s first rocket mail, pictorially canceled at Cosford, April 3, 1971, "Flown from BIRSTALL over the river Soar to BELGRAVE, LEICS in a single stage mail cargo rocket..." Also canceled on the verso on the same date at R.A.F. Post Room, Cosford, Staffordshire. First of these we have encountered. Address label removed, very fine.Auction Info
