Description
Apollo Command Module Environmental Control System Hardware: Suit Compressor Centrifugal Blower, AiResearch Part 826000 (Contract NAS-9-150). A heavy (5+ pounds) conical-shaped unit, 6.75" x 6" diameter (overall) with one multi-pin electrical connector on the side near a red "Warning/ Dielectric/ Testing/ Completed" sticker and a metal ID plate presenting the following data: "Compressor Centrifugal Motor Driven/ Part: 826000-2-1/ Serial: 113-106/ Volts: 115/200 RMS/ Phase: 3/ Freq: 400CPS/ Rating: Watts 85 35 CFM @ 10 In. H2O C .0266 Lb./Ft". There are various cast and engraved numbers along with several inspector stamps. There were two of these in the Environmental Control Unit; only one was used at a time. This was an integral part of the pressure suit circuit which automatically controls the flow, pressure, temperature, and composition of the pressure suit gas. A diagram of this component copied from the "Apollo System Engineering Manual" is included. Very fine.Auction Info
