Description

Apollo 11 Training-Used: NASA "Final Apollo 11 Flight Plan AS-506 / CSM-107 / LM-5" July 1, 1969-dated Book Directly from the Collection of Lunar Module Mission Simulator Instructor H. Ray Hubbard. An original 8" x 10.5" five-hole punched, staple and ring-bound manual of approximately 300 pages, as issued to H. Hubbard who has written his name and "FINAL" on the front. It is divided into six major sections: "General", "Update Forms", "Detailed Timeline", "Detailed Test Objectives", "Consumables", and "Summary Flight Plan". Front cover well-worn, contents fine.

This and the adjacent lots comprise a complete set of final version flight-planning documents as used by instructors and Apollo 11 crewmembers on the Lunar Module Mission Simulator at Cape Kennedy during the last days of crew training just prior to launch. An amazing collection of documents seldom offered in any form and rarely with this type of provenance. Captain Hershell Ray Hubbard, USAF, was an LMMS instructor at the Cape and also Staff Support at Houston when required. He has carefully preserved these as to document the preparations for this landmark flight and is now sharing them with the public.
