Description

Wild West Show Poster. This untitled 42" x 28" stone lithograph poster depicts a lively and colorful scene of Indians attacking a white settlement. It was printed by Riverside Printing of Milwaukee. One building is on fire while a group of frontiersmen assembled on the right attempt to respell their attackers. Some defenders are being scalped. This evocative image helped to attract visitors to the Wild West show then appearing in their town. No words were needed - the message was clear. The poster has been mounted on linen. The image itself appears to be in excellent shape. There are some areas of restoration across the bottom, several border tears, plus two 1.25" tears on the left border where the poster has lifted from the backing material and needs to be re-affixed. There is no loss and the poster seems complete in all respects.
