Symphonion 25St Sublime Harmony Hall Clock with Lenzkirch
Movement.
Produced in Leipzig, Germany, Serial #229485 Two diametrically opposite combs of 84 teeth total on gilt cast iron bedplate play in sublime harmony format on demand by external brass start/stop lever independent of the two train Lenzkirch clock movement, the walnut cabinet with Teutonic style applied carved and moulded decoration, the hood and door with matching pilasters, bead and reel moulding, paneled door, and turned "urn" columns on ogee base, with ten center drive 11 3/4" discs.
As American music box makers did not offer comparable ornately carved musical hall clocks these were imported in reasonable numbers in spite of a 45% tariff.
