Description
Very Fine US M1833 Foot Artillery Sword Ames 1833. Desirable first year of manufacture with deep crisp marks. The "S. Huse/Newburyport" mark is on the top of the cross guard, along with the initials "J.A.J.B." in a round end cartouche, as well as a large stamped letter M. Blade about mint, just a few minor, really negligible stains near the base. Hilt also perfect with nice patina. Scabbard really excellent. Both brass mounts perfect with nice patina. Body of the scabbard with just one area of crackling of the finish, but no flaking, and very sound and supple. A really exceptional example.Auction Info
