Description

WWII Japanese Army Officers' Sword. 27 ¼-inch bright, unsigned blade with wide, smoky temper line and fullers running to within an inch of the tip. Two holes in the tang. Cloth-wrapped ray skin handle with three cherry blossom menuki. Open work brass tsuba. Brown painted scabbard with brown painted mounts highlighted on the edge in gilt. Removable lower ashi.

Condition: Excellent. Bright blade with trivial small nicks in the cutting edge and modest spotting from scabbard storage. Tsuba a bit loose. Scabbard retains approximately 85% original paint with a few shallow dents.
