Description
U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber Manufactured by Ames. 34 ½" curved blade with the Ames company information on the reverse and marked "U.S.", inspector marked and dated 1862 (slightly obscured) on the obverse ricasso. Brass half-basket guard, wire-wrapped leather grip. Iron scabbard with two suspension rings. Edge of blade with significant nicking with some scattered dark spots. Scabbard with the usual dents and some pitting, otherwise in very good condition.Auction Info
