Description
Signed European Cup Hilt Rapier.44-inches overall with a 37 1/2-inch double edge blade with a single narrow fuller 6 3/4-inches from the hilt on each side. 1-inch at its widest point. Both sides marked with armorer hallmarks and script [visible but illegible]. Wrought iron cup with simple raised border design to edge [diameter 5-inches]. Wire wrapped grip with simple pommel cap. Straight quillons with simple ends. Simple design adorns the inside of the cup hilt. Condition: Very good. Showing age wear and a smooth patina overall. Surface spots, pitting present. Light surface rust inside cup hilt. Cup hilt with some mars and bumps. Wire possibly replaced.
