Russian WWI Pattern 1881 Dragoon Sword (Shaska).

32-inch slightly curved, wide (1 1/4-inch) blade, large fullers extending to within 7 1/2-inches of the tip. Dated 1916 on the reverse ricasso and with various proof marks on the obverse ricasso. Zlatoust maker mark. Gilded brass hilt with numerous Russian proof/regimental markings on either side of the cross guard. Grooved wooden grip. The scabbard is wood with a leather covering with gilded-brass throat, drag and single ring mount. The sword is sold with a large stained wood, glass top display case measuring 45 x 10 1/2 x 4-inches.

Condition: Very good. The blade has a smooth gray patina; light to moderate scuffing and surface cracks to the leather wrap of the scabbard.
