Description

Revolutionary War Period British Naval Boarding Cutlass. Totally untouched with deep dark patina overall. 29" single edge blade, 1 1/2' wide at the base with crown over script GR mark on both sides of the blade near the base. The blade exhibits light to medium pitting over most of its surface, with just two tiny nicks. Essentially just showing its great age. Cylindrical iron grip with 'figure eight' guard . The guard incorporates the typical 'rolled' quillon and a slot at the top, apparently for knot. Guard with just one slight bend and the hilt overall with scattered light pitting, but again that deep dark untouched patina. A very nice, totally untouched example of this scarce British Revolutionary War period 'Sea Service' weapon.
