Post-Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Officers' Sword Made by Springfield Armory.

31-inch straight blade (37-inches overall) with etched foliate and patriotic decoration in gilt panels on either side. Maker marked "SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / SPRINGFIELD / MASS. U.S.A." near the obverse ricasso. Gild-brass hilt with metal grip. Plated scabbard with gilded-brass throat, mounts and drag. A five-pointed gilt star is mounted to between the mounts on the obverse side.

Condition: The sword is in excellent condition; the scabbard retains about 20% of the plating. Very good.
