Pair of US Swords, one engraved with Soldiers name.

The first has the makers name "Epson Emepso S.N. DFM 1863" (One word unreadable) on the top of the 31 3/4" blade. The blade has some light wear, but in fine condition. The Wire grip, pommel and guard are all in fine condition. The second sword bears the name of the "Springfield Armory , Springfield Mass . U.S.A." at the top of the 31 3/4" blade. The blade is ornately engraved with "US" on one side and an eagle on the other. The blade has wear towards the tip, but overall in fine condition. The wooden grip, pommel and guard are in fine condition. The scabbard retains its hangers and drag. There is a large dent approximately half way down, and a smaller near the top. Engraved near the top is the soldiers name "Capt. W.H. Paine 2nd U.S. Cav.".
