Description

Ornate and Unusual English Épée or Court Sword. 31½" triangular blade with floral etching and maker or distributor's mark "Henry Poole & Co./ Savile Row/ London. W.". This rather showy sword is festooned with faceted metal studs, which when the plating was new, must have made the sword seem as if it were encrusted with jewels. Lacking scabbard. The clamshell guard is loose and much of the plating has worn from the silvered grip and guard. The blade has a few small scattered rust spots, otherwise the sword is in overall good condition.
