Description

Japanese Damascus Katana.
28 ¾-inch Damascus blade with deep fullers on each side running to within 2 ½-inches from the tip. Two holes in the tang. Unsigned. Round, thick bronze tsuba decorated with bird and tree scenes and both the fuchi and kashira are lightly decorated. Cloth-wrapped handles with both menuki. Black lacquered saya. A note from the consignor states that this is a cutting test sword but this has not been corroborated.

Condition: Excellent.
