Description
Imperial German Lion's Head Cavalry Saber. 33" slightly curved, bright blade with a Clemen & Jung maker's mark. Both sides of blade have etched panels featuring floral scroll and military motifs. The gilded brass guard is ornately decorated in floral scroll on every component and features a small Imperial eagle on the knucklebow. Crossed swords are on the obverse langet; a blank shield on the reverse. The lion's head retains the red ruby eyes. Wire-wrapped fishskin grip. Nickel scabbard with two brass mounts and rings. Scattered spotting to the scabbard, otherwise the sword is in excellent condition.Auction Info
