High Grade French Model 1822 Cavalry Officer's Saber 42 1/4' with a 36" double etched single fuller blade decorated with scrolls and panoplies of arms, bright with minor dark staining, no edge nicks. Makers name on spine covered by scroll etching. Gilded triple branch guard heavily decorated inside and out with vine and berry devices, scrolls and acanthus leaves, in excellent condition. Raised cast pommel cap with French eagle, crown above eagle head neatly removed. Sharkskin grip with perfect wire wrap. Browned steel scabbard smooth with gilt double ring mounts in excellent condition.
