Description
Civil War U.S. M1840 Artillery Saber, Ames 1864. Superb condition light/ mounted artillery saber. Scabbard bright and clean with no rust pitting or dents. Hilt about perfect, including leather and wire, the brass with nice patina. Blade retains the leather washer, excellent crisp markings, and much original luster. Just some very minor, small spots of staining, really negligible, with no rust, pitting or nicks. Really an exceptional example.Auction Info
