A Magnificent Tachi Mounted Wakizashi by Koto Kanemoto.

The blade with 58.8 cm. cutting edge, likely cut down from long katana with classic kanemoto sanbansuji hamon. Elaborate darkened silver full tachi mount of excellent quality throughout the ashi with nanako ground. The tsuba of silver with gold lacquer insert, entire grip of silver with silver imitating same. 3 ho ho birds which appear to be of solid gold decorate both sides of handle. Tachi fuchi-kashira of silver. Koiguchi of heavy silver. Lacquer scabbard of gold of the best quality with raised relief chrysanthemum and prunus branches. Condition of blade in good state of polish with some chingane but no serious kizu. Mokume hada. A spectacular work of art, Japanese tachi.
