A Handsome Handachi Mounted Japanese Samurai Sword Daisho [Katana and Wakizashi].

The Blades And Koshirae All With NBTHK Hozon Papers. The katana (dai) with mumei nakago and one mekugi ana with papers attributing the maker as Shihada Sukemune circa1650 by Matsuo Fujishiro. The Koto wakizashi (sho) with NBTHK hozon paper and ubu nakako with one mekugi ana signed two character signature Kanesada, Mino Province circa 1580. Blade with ko-itame hada and gunome temper. The handachi koshirae with NBTHK hozon paper. Brown lacquer sayas with shell ground. The fuchi's and kashira's of fine quality shakudo nanako decorated with blossoms and gold highlights. Akasaka School tuba's. This is a most attractive samurai daisho in fine condition throughout and accompanied by NBTHK papers for both blades and mounts.
