    Description
Scythe Polearm, European.Approximately 96-inches overall with an 19-inch blade and separate 5-inch ornament curved spike. The blade and spike/hook are mounted to the 69-inch round contemporary wooden shaft and fastened to the metal via two wrought iron round-head rivets or nails near the collar. No visible markings apart from the hammer/construction marks present. A great decorative piece. Similar examples present in book; Figure 700 on pages 545-546. Date of blade has not been authenticated.
Condition: Very good as presented and configured. Heavy wear to crude metal. Wooden shaft with scuffs and worm holes. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
