Civil War Ames U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber. 34 ¾-inch slightly curved, bright blade with single line "Ames Mfg. Co." mark on the reverse ricasso and "U.S. / C.E.W. / 1864" on the obverse ricasso. Brass half-basket guard, pommel inspector stamped "JH" and "CEW". Leather covered wood grip with twisted wire wrap. Bright scabbard with two mounts and rings, marked "JM" on the drag. Drag is of an atypical style.

Condition: Excellent. Blade remains bright and smooth with trivial age staining and scattered pinprick pits. Small areas of leather loss on the grip. Scabbard bright with one trivial, shallow dent and few scattered dark spots.
