Description
Vintage KA-BAR Stag Handle Combination Hunting Knife, Butcher Knife & Camp Fork Set.Possibly called the #283 model/set. Main clip-point blade is 5-inches in length fitted in stag handle grip with folding release for interchanging with other blades. Second blade is 6-inches in length [1 1/4-inches at its widest point] and the two-prong fork attachment is 7 1/2-inches long. Markings; Main blade is marked KA-BAR on ricasso and UNION CUTLERY CO. / OLEAN N.Y. obverse. Fork attachment marked the same, second blade marked only UNION CUTLERY CO. OLEAN N.Y., possibly a replacement, we are not sure. Set is contained in KA-BAR marked sheath designed to hold all three blades.
Condition: Very good as configured. Main blade appears to have been refinished at some point, other 2 attachments do not appear to be. All with fine marks and scratches from storage and handling. Sheath nicely marked, with moderate to heavy wear, backside of sheath has some blade resting wear and tears, a few repairs present.
