Description

Vintage and Rare Case XX 551 Stag Folding Knife with Sheath.

Approximately 6 1/2-inches closed and about 10-inches fully opened. Knife is a lock back Linerlock style. Knife is circa 1920-39 according to research and appears to have been made in Bradford, PA. Appears to be nickel silver bolsters. Contained in original basket weave tooled leather sheath with CASE / TESTED XX marked snap enclosure. Note: Not a knife seen every day and usually identified only by advanced Case knife collectors.

Condition: Fine to excellent for this model. Blade with high polish present, scuffs and wear on blade appear visible from knife handling only when fully opened as the blade interacts with the Linerlock when opening and closing and inside of the handle, apart from that, blade is excellent. Blade plays a bit [side to side] when fully opened. Some toning tarnish to bolsters. Handle scales very good with no chips but a few noticeable and usual stress marks near pins. Sheath with handling wear, scuffs to edges present and some creases.
