Lot of Two Folding Dirk Knives.
Comprising: (1) Circa 1840s-1850s. 5-1/8"?closed lockback folding dirk knife with stag handle scales and nickel silver trim including floral guard and crown pommel. Dagger ground blade, well worn, is marked J. NO[will] & SONS?SHEFFIELD. and on the reverse D* and the firm's Cross-keys trademark. Blade is loose fully opened. Very good. (2) Circa 1840s-1850s. 5-1/8"?closed lockback folding dirk knife with ornately carved mother of pearl scales and foliate nickel silver trim, fileworked backspring is wrapped in nickel silver. Clip point blade with filework along back, marked SAMUEL?C?WRAGG?No 25 FURNACE?HILL?SHEFFIELD, and IMPROVED?PATENT?CUTLERY. Back scale is loose, end of backspring is broken off so knife does not function properly. Fair.
