Lot of Two Folding Dirk Knives.
Comprising: (1) Circa 1830s-1840s. 7" closed lockback folding dirk knife with dagger ground blade marked SHORTLAND?PATENT?DIRK?KNIVES FOR?USE. Horn handle scales with a few areas of insect damage. Nickel silver trim with eagle guards, fancy shield and scalloped pattern pommel. Reverse side of guard replaced as well as locking latch, blade has been cleaned. Good. (3) Circa 1837-1840s. 6-7/8" closed lockback folding dirk knife with dagger ground blade (two small nicks) marked V(crown)R JAMES?RODGERS?SHEFFIELD. Stag handles with nickel silver trim, including rare "green man"?pattern guard, shield, and scalloped pommel. Excellent with one small handle crack.
