Half Horse-Half Alligator Bowie Knife with Mother-of-Pearl Grip by James Rodgers. 13-inch cast steel spear point blade of diamond section. Ricasso marked: James Rodgers/Royal/Cutlery/Sheffield on the ricasso. Dog bone German silver crossguard. Grip with mother-of-pearl scales. The coffin-hilt pommel with half horse-half alligator motif. The overall length is 18 1/2-inches. There are faint traces of an etched arabesque and shield design on the blade. Condition: Light to moderate pitting on the blade, nice mottled patina.
