Folding Bowie Knife by W. Butcher, Sheffield.Circa 1830s-1840s. 7" closed lockback folding bowie knife with heavy bolo-style spear point blade marked W(crown)R W. Butcher Sheffield and [Warran]TED OF?THE?BEST?Q[uality]. Beautifully textured stag handle scales with nickel silver trim including fileworked guards, escutcheon and foliate pommels. Blade cleaned with scattered pitting remaining. Locking latch a replacement. Guards have been drilled for a bail, now missing. Excellent.
