Description

Lot of Two (2) 20th Century Eastern Daggers.

Comprising: 1) An unidentified dagger with a 7 1/2-inch blade of undulating form, measuring 15 1/2-inches overall in its scabbard. Constructed of wood with thin metal sheet fittings, the design appears Oceanic in character, at minimum suggestive of regional tribal work. 2) A traditional Nepalese kukri dagger, complete with its wooden scabbard and the two smaller by-knives (karda and chakmak) still present. The hilt is of ebony with steel accents, the pommel formed as a stylized lion's head in Asian taste.

Condition: Both daggers in fair condition overall. Blades with rough surfaces, showing scuffs and wear. The kukri scabbard with moderate to heavy losses and is unstable; the unidentified dagger's scabbard lacking its heel mount. Sold as is.
