Description
Lot of 3 German Edged Weapons. Comprising: 1) German Short Sword. 14 1/2-inch flat steel tapered blade. Gladius form. Ricasso marked, "MADE IN GERMANY N.54." U-shaped iron guard with ribbed grip and helmet form pommel cap. 2) German Hunting Dagger. 12-inch spearpoint blade with sharpened back edge. Ricasso marked, "J. FELTZ." Straight guard with carved german silver boar finials. Horn grip with baying boar pommel cap. 3) German Export Machete and Scabbard. 27-inch polished steel, tapered blade. Ricasso marked: "LUCKHAUS & GUNTHER/REMSCHEID/ GARANTIA." Triangular, german silver guard with floral and shield motif. Checkered hardwood grip. German silver pommel cap with similar fine floral scrolls. Contained in embossed black leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. Condition: 1) Good. Dark patina with age wear and scattered spotting. Patches of fine pitting. Blade loose in grip. Ring pommel device absent showing breaks at fasteners. 2) Very good. Light age wear and patina. 3) Fine. Light age wear and patina. Scabbard fair with losses to leather. Fragile due to tears 8-inches from top of throat.Auction Info
