Description

Japanese Tanto. 9 ¾-inch blade; 15 ½-inches overall. Single hole in the tang. Ornate pierced-iron tsuba. Lightly decorated habaki. Cloth-wrapped handle complete with both menukis. Fuchi and kashira decorated with gilt-accented foliate designs. Wooden saya with kozuka.

Condition: Very good. Bright blade with some minor blemishes and handling marks. Vertical crack in the obverse ray or shark skin covering. Wooden saya with hairline cracks on the obverse side.
