Description
U. S. Model 1816 Socket Replacement Bayonet with Original Leather Scabbard. 16-inch blade and overall length of 19 ΒΌ-inches. Marked U.S.. These bayonets were made or modified to replace missing bayonets for U.S. Model 1816 flintlock muskets converted to percussion in the 1850s. This bayonet comes with the original leather scabbard. A period leather frog is attached with a woven cloth shoulder strap. Condition: Good. The bayonet has a mottled finish, the scabbard is missing the tip, and the cloth shoulder strap is stained and torn.NRA FIREARMS FOR FREEDOM PROGRAM
