A Fine Shinto Katana Attributed to Kato Tsunahide with Wild Choji Midare Hamon.

The deeply curved blade 68.7 cm cutting edge and wide bohi. Choji midare hamon reminiscent of Tsuda Sukehiro. Tight itame hada, nakago is ubu. One mekugi-ana. Appears to have had a signature removed at some point. Condition of blade, excellent in almost full polish. The ha with microscopic edge chips (hakobore). Some extremely minor pits in blade body, nakago with of signature removal. Beautiful gold foil habaki. Honoki wood shirasaya. Blade has koshirae consistent of soft metal fuchi-kashira birds, bird menuke, high grade string wrapped. Pierced iron tsuba. Elaborate black lacquer striped saya. With NBTHK Hozon origami.
