Yvez Tanguy, artist. Henri Pastoureau, CRI DE LA MÉDUSE DESSINS D'YVES TANGUY. Paris: Chez Jeanne Bucher, 1937. First edition, with three line drawings by the French surrealist painter Yvez Tanguy (1900-1955). Inscribed by Pastoureau to the French poet Paul Éluard (1895-1952), one of the founders of the Surrealist movement, on the short title page.Paper cover, folded (with glassine protective wrapper, with piece missing on bottom front). Copy 4 of 25 copies printed on "papier Le Roy Louis teinte Normandie." Printed by the Beresniak Printing Works in Paris (February 25, 1937). Top and bottom of spine a bit worn, but overall very good. Octavo (8" x 11.25"), [1-5], 5-35, [36-40] loose pages in original paper cover. This work contains 24 poems of the French writer Pastoureau (1912-1996), who was closely allied with surrealists Louis Aragon, André Breton, Paul Éluard, and Yvez Tanguy, who produced the line drawings for this book.
